Lyons, GA – The Greater Vidalia® Chamber welcomed Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, to Lyons on Thursday, September 4, 2025, as part of the statewide Georgia 2050 Tour. The event, hosted at Lyons First Baptist Church, brought together community leaders, business owners, and residents to explore the long-term economic future of Georgia.
The Georgia 2050 initiative is designed to prepare the state for transformative demographic, technological, and economic shifts in the coming decades. In his presentation, Clark highlighted statewide data and trends while encouraging local leaders to consider how rural communities like Vidalia and Lyons can position themselves for sustainable growth.
“Georgia is changing rapidly, and we must ensure our communities are ready for the opportunities and challenges ahead,” said Clark. “The Georgia 2050 framework is about building resilient, connected, and thriving communities across every corner of our state.”
During the presentation, Clark spoke on generations in the workforce and forecasted how each generation segment will impact the workplace in future years. He also emphasized key focus areas from the Georgia 2050 Prosperity Pillars, including:

- Innovation & Technology: leveraging new tools to grow businesses and attract investment.
- Infrastructure & Connectivity: ensuring communities remain competitive in transportation, energy, and digital access.

The Lyons stop was one of several across Georgia, with the tour engaging local chambers, government officials, educators, and business leaders in collaborative dialogue about the state’s future.
